World of Warcraft just shared a short video showcasing the dungeons coming to Classic Timewalking. Featuring four iconic dungeons, two of which are separated into two wings each, World of Warcraft fans can challenge these six retro instances during the upcoming 20th anniversary event, and again in future Timewalking events when Classic comes up in the rotation. On October 22, World of Warcraft begins its 20th anniversary celebration alongside the release of Patch 11.0.5. This massive in-game event runs until January 7, 2025, and features tons of content for players to enjoy. Among the new activities, Classic Timewalking gives fans a chance to relive iconic dungeons at their current level, allowing them to enter certain instances as they were in Vanilla WoW starting as early as level 10. Related World of Warcraft Shows Off New Rewards From 20th Anniversary Event World of Warcraft shows off several of the rewards players can get during the 20th anniversary event, including a first look at several new cosmetics. Now, World of Warcraft has given players a digital tour of these dungeons. In a short video posted on Twitter, Blizzard showed off the Classic dungeons coming in the new World of Warcraft Timewalking event: the Deadmines, Dire Maul, Zul’Farrak, and Stratholme. Dire Maul and Stratholme are actually separated into two separate wings – the former with the Warpwood Quarter and Capital Gardens, and the latter’s Living and Undead halves – giving fans a total of six dungeons they queue into during Classic Timewalking. Classic Timewalking Dungeons in World of Warcraft Deadmines Dire Maul – Warpwood Quarter Dire Maul – Capital Gardens Zul’Farrak Stratholme – Living side Stratholme – Undead side When World of Warcraft remade Azeroth in Cataclysm, nearly every dungeon from Vanilla was reworked in some capacity, including most of those chosen for Classic Timewalking. Because of this, the versions of some dungeons players will encounter during this event have been inaccessible in modern World of Warcraft for nearly 15 years. Close Classic Timewalking also brings with it new loot to buy using Timewarped Badges. Bobadormu, the vendor for Classic Timewalking, offers a bunch of new items, including a mount, toy, several pets, reputation tokens, and a bunch of transmogs, including some item appearances directly from WoW Classic Season of Discovery. Like the event itself, these rewards will return in the future, as Classic is being added to the regular rotation of Timewalking events. Unfortunately, Vanilla WoW had an abundance of other old dungeons, like the Wailing Caverns and old Scarlet Monastery wings, that are not in Classic Timewalking at the moment, nor is there a Timewalking raid just yet. However, World of Warcraft fans can enter Blackrock Depths – a brand-new raid version of the eponymous sprawling dungeon – during the 20th anniversary event. It remains to be seen if the Blackrock Depths raid will return again, either in future anniversary events or Classic Timewalking cycles, but the instance promises an adventure both new and nostalgic all the same.
